Why You Can't Have What You Want…

The three steps to manifesting all the things you desire are simple steps most of us will not be able to accomplish consciously.

Why is it some people who seem to be less deserving than you, have it all? Abundance, friends, and relationships keep coming their way while you keep struggling to make ends meet. You know you deserve their abundance, but it seems unattainable. You're smart, educated, deserving, and you work hard-what is it they know that you do not?

As simple and unrealistic as it may seem-the one and only reason they have it is because they know they can. And they know they can have more anytime they wish. It is this thought separating them from you.

Whether they were born into it, or worked for it-they all have the same knowingness-they can have it and more. This knowingness is why only five percent of the population controls 95% of the world's riches.Although the only difference in having and not having is within the knowledge you can have it-there are ten good reasons you will be able to come up with that will support your belief "you can not have it."

1. Don't know what you really want.
2. Too difficult to focus on your desire
3. Easily distracted by others things.
4. Want to control the process.
5. You believe you do not have the power to change your circumstances.
6. You do not deserve.
7. It is not God's will.
8. It's too simple.
9. It is selfish.
10. You just cannot have anything you want.

Frozen Water found on Moon: NASA

WASHINGTON: US space agency NASA disclosed on Friday that, there has been significant amount of frozen water on Moon. This discovery leads to major leap forward in space exploration and boosting hopes of a permanent lunar base.

Preliminary data from a moon probe "indicates the mission successfully uncovered water in a permanently shadowed lunar crater," NASA said in a statement.

"The discovery opens a new chapter in our understanding of the moon," says NASA scientists.

In a dramatic experiment to probe Earth's nearest neighbor for water, NASA last month had sent two spacecraft crashing into the lunar surface. This experiment leads to the discovery of water on moon which is present there in frozen form.

One rocket slammed into the Cabeus crater, near the lunar southern pole, at around 5,600 miles (9,000 kilometers) per hour. 386489CabeusA-Height The impact of this bombardment sent a huge plume of material billowing up from the bottom of the crater, which has not seen sunlight for billions of years. The rocket was followed four minutes later by a spacecraft equipped with cameras to record the impact.

Anthony Colaprete, project scientist and principal investigator for the 79-million-dollar LCROSS mission said that "We are ecstatic."

"Multiple lines of evidence show water was present in both the high angle vapor plume and the ejecta curtain created by the LCROSS Centaur impact.

"The concentration and distribution of water and other substances requires further analysis, but it is safe to say Cabeus holds water," Colaprete said.

Previously NASA's scientists had theorized that, except for the possibility of ice at the bottom of craters, the moon was totally dry.

Finding water on Earth's natural satellite is a major breakthrough in space exploration.

"We're unlocking the mysteries of our nearest neighbor and, by extension, the solar system," said Michael Wargo, chief lunar scientist at NASA headquarters in Washington.

There are also other intriguing substances along with water in Cabeus. The permanently shadowed regions of the moon are truly cold traps, collecting and preserving material over billions of years."

Only 12 men, all Americans, have ever walked on the moon, and the last to set foot there were in 1972, at the end of the Apollo missions. But NASA's ambitious plans to put US astronauts back on the moon by 2020 to establish manned lunar bases for further exploration to Mars under the Constellation project are increasingly in doubt.

NASA's budget is currently too small to pay for Constellation's Orion capsule, a more advanced and spacious version of the Apollo lunar module, as well as the Ares I and Ares V launchers needed to put the craft in orbit. A key review panel appointed by President Barack Obama said existing budgets are not large enough to fund a return mission before 2020.

Mumbai is a part of India and I plays for India: Sachin Tendulkar

MUMBAI: Sachin Tendulkar on Friday in an interaction with selected media persons told that "I am extremely proud of being a Maharashtrian, but Mumbai is a part of India and I play for India". With this the master blaster sent out a strong message to all those supposedly upholding the Marathi cause. Tendulkar loves to parade his Maharashtrian roots but not at the cost of national pride.

Tendulkar was the quintessential Indian during the interaction initiated by WSG. Right from the time he first put on the India cap on a wintry November morning at Karachi in 1989 (which he termed as the "best moment’’ of his cricketing career), Tendulkar emphasised, it was a dream which "I continue to live even today’’. So what if he is two days shy of celebrating 20 years in international cricket: the batting maestro says, "After that (donning the India cap), whatever I achieved subsequently is a mere reflection in the national cause.’’

Answering the question about what has been his mantra for success, Tendulkar replied that "At home there was an unwritten rule: Let others talk about your past, you just have to think about the future.’’

He also said that "Above all, the affection and support from the cricket fans of the country has been immense. You need people to share your success and I have more than a billion people. That is more than enough for me,’’

Tendulkar spent nearly six hours patiently tending to interviews, including an interaction with select media. He patiently addressed every query, which ranged from the bold to the bizarre. Often he pointed out factual errors, but what stood out was his elephantine memory.

Another query was related to a Rajasthan player, Gohil, who Tendulkar, apparently, had been on the lookout for, for many years. "We were at an u-15 camp in Indore,’’ said the master blaster. "Between the 12th and 14th day, I lost my batting pads. They were very special to me. Incidentally, the boy was also missing around the same time as my pads.’’ Why were they special? "They were gifted to me by Sunil Gavaskar!’’ The genial side in Tendulkar then showed up. "I don’t intend to say he stole them but yes I lost them.’’

When somebody asked him to relive the time when was stuck on the nineties during an inter-school match, Tendulkar took over with ease. "It was a match against Don Bosco,’’ he said. "I was 96 not out and was keen to get the hundred because I often used to ask my coach (Ramakant Achrekar) to come home for lunch. He would brush it away, saying he’d come only come if I scored a century. It was also going to be my first century in competitive cricket. I couldn’t sleep the whole night. The next morning, my father and I visited a Ganpati temple on the way to the ground. I reached the century in the first over and when we returned for the lunch break, I went up to the coach and said, ‘Sir, you’ll come home now, won’t you?’ "

Rahul Bhatt to be questioned by NIA: Union Home Ministry

Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul Bhatt who is suspected to have link with Lashkar - e - Taiba's terrorist 'David coleman Headley' , may not be in the clear yet. A senior officer in the Union home ministry said 20061114-3 Rahul would be questioned by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as he was an important link in the probe into Headley's long stay in Mumbai.

NIA will call Rahul for questioning to verify if he and Headley traveled “together or otherwise” in or outside Mumbai. ‘‘We will have to find out whether Headley had used Rahul, and if yes, how was he used, knowingly or unknowingly,'' said the official. The National Investigation Agency has been mapping Headley's contacts by screening his acquaintances, cellphone and email records.

The mystery behind Rahul's name which appeared in the FBI affidavits against Headley was solved only when Rahul contacted the Mumbai Police voluntarily after seeing Headley's name on TV channels and informed them about whatever he knew of the US citizen.

Earlier the speculations for the name Rahul which appeared in Headley's email communication, was Rahul Gandhi or actors Rahul Bose or Rahul Khanna or whether the name referred to Shah Rukh Khan, who has often played characters named ‘Rahul'.

The name of Rahul Bhatt appeared only when David Headley wrote an email to his Pakistan based handler on July 8. In the email he wrote that ‘‘I think when we get a chance we should revist our last location again and say ‘hi' to Rahul.''

Rahul's name appeared in more such communication with the last one being recorded on July 10 when LeT leader said: ‘‘There are some investment plans with me, not exa-ctly at Rahul's city but near that. Rest we can decide when meet according to your ease.''

Global Warming

The sudden rise in the average temperature results in global warming and this is the main outline demanding attention. The augmentation in temperature is owing to the carbon dioxide increase in the atmosphere in combination with other greenhouse gases such as methane, aerosols and nitrous oxide.GlobalWarming The earth is habitable when there are normal gases in balance. But, when the same normal gases reach more than the average levels, it is tough to be eliminated and results in global warming. The temperatures start rising in the ocean and the air.

Global Warming Pollution

Global temperature increase shifts the ecosystems to the extent that glaciers retreat, plant productivity changes, water supply alters and the fragile ecosystems are destroyed. The effects overall are irreparable. Global warming pollution refers to more than glaciers and polar bears. Scientists estimate the water levels to be declining and the lakes to become warmer.
Global warming pollution enhances problems owing to extra warm atmosphere. The carbon dioxide gases absorb the sunlight and avert the heat from entering space and thereby cause the additional warmth in water and air. Ice and snow melting also has gained speed and ultimately compounds to global warming issues.

Greenhouse gases

Home is found to be mainly responsible to contribute maximum carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and to increase greenhouse gases. Today, everyone depends on energy and reverting to Stone Age cannot be given a thought. Though, it seriously looks like we will be forced to return to Atone Age if the fossil fuels are used exorbitantly.

Burning fossil fuels escalate the atmospheric gases. Agriculture and land clearing activities also imbalances the atmospheric gases. Recently, global warming has shown steep increase due to human activities. It is estimated that nearly 82% of energy related carbon dioxide emission is owing to natural gas and petroleum and subsequently the increase is found in greenhouse gases.

Clean Technologies

Clean technologies making less use of energy is highly recommended. Homes should make use of pollution free energies to have a decrease in the exhaustion of carbon dioxide gas into the atmosphere. This will help in decreasing global warming problem to a great extent. Greenhouse effect is only due to global warming resulting by affecting everyone on the earth. Even turning a light or watching TV releases carbon dioxide gases compounding to more global warming problems.

You can find a rapid change in the planets. Home, being the major contributor for global warming, it is best to make at least small efforts to decrease the usage of electricity. This will reduce the carbon dioxide gases exhaustion. Clean technologies are the best alternatives to bring effective changes in reducing global warming pollution, protecting ecosystems, wildlife, biodiversity and also in improving the quality of air.

Simple alternative steps

Simple alternative steps help in improving healthy surrounding. The simple steps include clean car technology. This meant the pollution is less and the car becomes more efficient by offering more mileage. You can use clean fuels, maintain regularly and upgrade the vehicle to be more fuel efficient and also reduce global warming.

Simple alternative steps are easily done by transforming the house hold lights to energy saving bulbs. Throwing trash should be stopped and given for recycling. Similarly, walking instead of driving vehicles prevents global warming. This also keeps your body fit. Conversely, planting more trees supports the reduction of global warming.

Significance of Search Engine Optimization

The arena in which all the companies/sites work on the internet is equal, they get an equal platform and are equally placed in the beginning. In the case of small to medium websites, a visitor comes to know about them through search engines. Statistically put, around 76% of the web users in U.S and Canada use search engines. It can be concluded that search engines are the major referrers to a particular website.process-seoIf a company knows how to place itself in good position on a search engine, its traffic will increase tremendously, and so will the sales. But unfortunately many of the businesses and websites do not know how to place themselves better on search engines. That's where Search Engine Optimization comes in.

How does SEO work’s?

Starting from the starting, in order for a website to appear on a search engine, either it has to be manually submitted, or it has to be crawled by the bot of a search engine (e.g. GoogleBot). Now, in order that the search engine rank the newly found website higher, SEO is required. The importance of ranking can be estimated from the fact that the results on the first page is viewed 78% more than those on pages 11-30.

Having good keywords and high amount of back links (link popularity) is the key to SEO.

The more sites that link to you, the better you are placed on the search engines. Of course, the usage of the keywords (you are targeting) on the content of the site also has a significant impact on the rankings. Search engines like Google, pay a lot of attention to the backlinks part. It also improves the rankings if the links are from the sites that have content related to your site.

Coming to content, a famous saying goes, "Content is the King". Whether it be some articles, or detailed information about the product you are selling, it will have a lot of impact on your rankings. Try to keep the articles unique and to the point.

Don'ts of SEO

Some companies try to use a short cut in SEO, the "Black Hat" SEO. What they do is rather than getting genuine backlinks from related sites, they create many websites, and give the link to the website they want to optimize. This results in instantaneous appraisal of rankings. Be warned that these methods are usually caught soon and the site in question may be permanently banned from the search engines.

Another big NO in SEO is over-using Flash and image content. This is because a search engine cannot read the text in images or Flash. This, however, has a workaround. One can use alt tag in images to provide the keywords for the image. Small captions above the image or the Flash content also helps.

SEO Tips

Though meta tags are considered dead in SEO, they can be useful in categorizing or ranking your sites higher in some of the less advanced search engines.

Another way would be placing the keywords in the hyperlinks of the site. This makes an impression that your site has a lot of outgoing links to the relevant topic. This also improves the rankings.

Take Yourself To the Top !!!

Everybody wants to get to the top, whether it is the top of a career, a company, the earnings scale, or the many other ways that we as individuals can define the "top" in our own lives! But with so many people trying to get to the top, how come so many people aren't moving up? I think there are some fundamental reasons why. Reasons that can be addressed and changed! What are some things you can do to get to the top? Here are some thoughts for you this week!

First of all, define what the "top" means for you. This is extremely important because if you don't know where you are going, you will never get there! Some people don't want to be the CEO of the company. In fact, many think they are better off than the CEO even though they don't make as much money. Instead, they think they are at the top because of less stress, weekends with their families, etc, and I see their point. It doesn't matter what others think is the top, only what you do, since you are only gauging whether or not YOU get there! So where is it for you? That is the first question for you to answer.

Be passionate about your goal. Passion is the energy that drives us, or, as Alexander Pope said, passions are the "gales of life." Passion is the wind in the sales of work. Find some thing you love and you will find something you can get to the top of. If you don't love it, you may still make it to the top, though highly unlikely. And even if you do, there will be no joy. Let your passion carry you, because it will carry you far! Thomas Fuller put it this way: A man with passion rides a horse that runs away with him.

The will to continue in the face of hardship. Another reason most will not get to the top is because they simply refuse to scale the mountains of hardship that separate them from the top. If you want to get to the beautiful view from the top, you will have to climb over any obstacles. Instead, many choose to stay at base camp!

One would think that Bjorn Borg, one of the greatest tennis players to ever live, would consider his skill his greatest asset. Instead, this is what he says, "My greatest point is my persistence. I never give up in a match. However down I am, I fight until the last ball. My list of matches shows that I have turned a great many so-called irretrievable defeats into victories." Continue until you get to the top!

Love people and treat them right. What? Love people? That's right! Why? Because if you are going to get to the top, you are going to need other people. Be a jerk and you will find people dragging their feet on you. Treat them right and you will find them helping you and even cheering you on!

Master the appropriate skills. Average skills will get you to the middle. Top skills will get you to the TOP! This is most assuredly true when combined with the points above. Are you achieving excellence in the skills you need? Are you growing day by day, month by month, year by year? You can always get better and getting better will take you closer to the top! Even if you only improve a little, you can keep improving that small amount and it will eventually become a big amount! Demand the best from yourself and you will get to the top. Remember the words of Jose Ortega y Gasset: "We distinguish the excellent man from the common man by saying that the former is the one who makes great demands on himself, and the latter who makes no demands on himself."

Vaccines in the 21st Century

It has been often remarked that predicting the future is fraught with error, and that it is much easier to predict the past. Nevertheless, I believe certain tendencies in the field of vaccine development are likely to flourish in the near- and long-term future, and so I venture to make the following 10 predictions:

* The development of combined vaccines containing multiple valences will increase. Valence is the number of different antigens in a vaccine-a trivalent vaccine has three antigens, for example. An antigen is a chemical substance, usually a protein that stimulates the immune system to produce an antibody specific to the antigen.HBV%20Vaccine As the schedule for early childhood vaccination becomes more crowded with new vaccines, and as we deal with disease syndromes having multiple causes, it will be necessary to combine vaccines so that fewer injections are given. These combinations of vaccines will not be simple to develop, as the immunologic rules of interference among vaccines are not well described.

* Although many vaccines are administered to infants under the age of one year, protection is slow to develop because of the immaturity of the immune system. In fact, immunity may fade later in childhood if no booster doses are given. The specific factors that contribute to the immaturity are just becoming known, and I anticipate that immunologic adjuvants-substances that enhance responses to vaccination-will come into use in infancy. Sexually transmitted diseases, respiratory diseases transmitted by crowding, infections that cause cancer later in life, and infections transmitted from mothers to their fetuses all require vaccination before adolescence begins. Thus, the age of 11 to 12 years will become a time for administration of many newly emerging vaccines to provide protection during early adult life.

* The elderly suffer a natural aging of the immune system, both with respect to antibody production and cellular responses to infection or vaccination. Here again, we are beginning to understand the defects that come with age, and correction of these defects should improve the efficacy of vaccines in an increasingly aged population.

* Two new strategies have become widespread for experimental vaccine development: injecting humans with DNA segments from pathogenic microorganisms that produce protective proteins after injection, and inserting genes from pathogens into harmless microorganisms that serve as carriers, or vectors, for production of immune responses. Although each strategy separately may generate useful vaccines, the combination of the two in a so-called "prime-boost sequence" provides synergy. Thus, there will be vaccinations consisting of prime-boost regimens, particularly in those cases where antibodies are insufficient to give complete protection.

* Intramuscular or subcutaneous injections have served us well as the means to introduce vaccines into humans. However, there are limitations to the feasibility of numerous injections and theoretical reasons for preferring other routes of immunization. Thus, intranasal, aerosol spraying and oral routes of administration are being intensively explored for certain vaccines. Moreover, transcutaneous immunization using patches, microneedles, and other ingenious technologies to pass vaccines through the skin is promising.

* Malaria, tuberculosis and HIV are major targets of vaccine development. Short-term protection against malaria has already been achieved, and I foresee the extension of protection by combining several malaria antigens in one vaccine, although I suspect that regular boosters will be necessary to maintain protection.

* Prospects for a vaccine that protects against adult tuberculosis are good. This will be based on the current BCG vaccine. The Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine, developed at the Institut Pasteur in Lille, France, in the early 20th century, is effective in children but does not prevent the infection in adults. Insertion of genes that code for additional protective proteins should improve BCG.

* HIV has proven to be a difficult target for vaccination, but a vaccine that reduces the seriousness of infection and prolongs life, even while not preventing the disease completely, is likely to be the product of current clinical trials. The development of a vaccine that prevents infection entirely is less likely in the near future.

* Influenza remains a banal but deadly infection. Although the vaccines we have are very beneficial, better protection will be derived from the inclusion of more influenza proteins, adjuvants, and the combined use of live and killed vaccines.

How to Create Your Cover Letter When Switching Careers

You have recently made the decision to exit one career and enter a new one, which can be both exciting and a little bit scary. But while the choice to make the career switch was probably a grueling one, the prospect of explaining your lack of job experience to potential employers is probably downright terrifying.

Though you may be concerned about drawing attention to this missing portion of your career history, don’t spend too much time dwelling on it. The truth is, if you really desire to move into your new career, you can do it. You just have to believe in yourself and present this belief in your cover letters.

Be Honest about Why You’re Changing Careers When you begin explaining why you’re switching careers in your cover letter, it is best to be as honest as possible. You can do this by remembering that at some point you sat alone and contemplated your reasons for making this major life decision. So take this time to revisit those reasons. Are you switching because you weren’t fulfilled in your previous career? Or do you believe that you’ve always had talent in this field and now you want to pursue it? Whatever your reasons may be, express them well. Doing so may help prospective employers better relate to your new-found passion. Even more, it may inspire them to take a chance with you, even if you have less experience in this specific career than other candidates.

Discuss Your Relevant Experience As mentioned previously, you may not have an extensive background in the career you are pursuing, but that’s okay. If you have relevant professional experience, you can simply dig that up to show the prospective employer your ability to perform. For instance, you may have years of experience working as a PR manager. However, you would like to become a marketing manager because you’re interested in branding products, participating in trade shows, and getting the company name out to the public. As a PR manager, you may have experience talking to the media on behalf of your company, and developing strategies to help create the proper public image. So you can note these and other relevant PR experiences in your cover letter to show that your understanding of the company’s public image and products can easily be applied to a marketing career.

Do You Believe in Yourself? You should question how much you believe in yourself before writing your cover letter. Why? Because you are making a major change in your life that requires courage, and could possibly face a little rejection. If you hold fear in your heart, it can easily translate on paper. So before you write your cover letter, it is a good idea to develop and nurture your belief in your capabilities. This can boost your confidence and possibly help the potential employer take a greater interest in you.

Switching careers can definitely be an intimidating prospect to consider. But if you have confidence in your abilities, the skills to back it up, and a great cover letter to boot, you will be well on your way to successfully entering an exciting new career in the field you absolutely love.

How to Motivate Yourself

Just as willpower is an essential factor in achieving success, at some point in time, discouragement and lack of motivation may hinder you from reaching your goal. And it is up to you, and you alone to devise techniques that will help you keep that drive within ablaze.

It is helpful to have visual goals. Whatever that is you are working towards, make it visual. It maybe something material like a car, or a vacation you have been looking forward to for the longest time. Take or cut out a picture of it and post it at a conspicuous place at work or at home where you can see it often. So that when you feel discouraged, this will remind you of your goal and will help you keep your focus.

Make a contract with oneself. According to motivational researches, people who write down to-do-lists are far more successful in achieving their intended goals than those people who just keep mental lists instead. Putting something in writing somehow makes it more powerful psychologically speaking. This may also be the reason why most cultures have such a high regard in honoring contracts. In the contract, you may also include a certain reward that you will give yourself once you have accomplished the task. After all, everyone likes to be rewarded for completing a good job. Even a simple pat on the back, “good job”, or “thank you” may do the trick to give the person the extra push to carry on, but unfortunately, these may not always be readily available. Considering that these are also essential in keeping oneself motivated, you must learn to find a way to get that encouragement on your own through rewarding yourself.

Abusive people lower your self-esteem and bring you down. Get these negative people out of your life. Surround yourself with positive people. Emulate their example. Smile amply and think happy thoughts. These will give you a brighter outlook and lets you see a clearer picture of what you really want and a fresh mind to know what steps to take to get there. Rather than wait for things to happen, try to be proactive and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN. Inactivity idles the brain and stagnates your potential to achieve your goals.

Read inspirational books and literature. These will help you improve your attitude and heal your mind. A book of success stories also proves to be encouraging. You will not only learn from others' experiences and derive confidence boosting insights from them but the story will be instrumental in motivating you to go for your goal and move ahead with your plans. If this still seems to falter, get training or education. Oftentimes, not knowing how or where to start is frustrating. Knowledge is power. Having a clear understanding of how and where to start is empowering and it will provide the extra drive needed to hit the mark you are aiming at and follow it through.

Having enumerated all these tips and tricks to attaining self-motivation, but still you seem to feel lacking that much needed drive, there is one last thing that you must try. Whatever it is that you have been meaning to do, or wanting to achieve, JUST DO IT! Keep on aiming high and go for it! Actually getting your hands dirty best solves the problem of motivation. By “forcing” yourself to just do it, your momentum will pick up slowly as you go along and before you know it you have finished the task or have finally achieved your goal. Divide and conquer is the key. Break down the seemingly unsurmountable undertaking to small doable steps. Not only does it become less overwhelming, but seeing the "in the meantime" results will further your confidence that it can indeed be done.

Lack of motivation happens to us all, but if you do not encourage yourself to accept opportunities and be challenged, no one else will. It is most important to keep your eye on the goal, find ways to keep going, and in no time, you shall reap its benefits. And if at the beginning you were just doing it for the material reward, you will also learn to realize that the fulfillment, satisfaction and self-achievement you derive from reaching your goal is a much pleasurable high that will keep the drive within continually burning.

Drug Lord listed ahead of Medvedev,Sarcozy in Forbes “World’s most powerful people’s list”

Drug Lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman a fugitive reputed to be hiding in the mountains of northern Mexico was listed at No. 41 out of 67 in Forbes “Most powerful people’s list”.

Guzman is ahead of presidents 5cf638b74d like Russia's Dmitry Medvedev, France's Nicolas Sarkozy and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez.

Guzman’s profession was noted as “drug trafficker” on the list published on Forbes Web site.

"This ranking is intended to be the beginning of a conversation, not the final word," the magazine said in accompanying article. "Do despicable criminals like billionaire Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman ... belong on this list at all?"

On the other hand, Mexican officials decried Forbes' decision to include Guzman on its list of the world's billionaires. According to them ‘Guzman’ was wrongly compared with the legitimate businessman's.

The office of the Mexican presidency said it had no immediate reaction to his inclusion on Wednesday's list.

"The drug traffickers have always been powerful," a reader who identified himself only as Julio commented in a discussion of the Forbes article on the Web site of the Mexico City newspaper El Universal.

Guzman’s is Mexico's most wanted fugitive. He heads one of Mexico's most powerful drug gangs. The government has offered a reward of 30 million pesos ($2.3 million) for information leading to his capture.

Forbes estimated Guzman's fortune at $1 billion

Britain Warns its nationals against visiting Goa

MARGAO:  A new British government travel advisory has warned that favoured tourist destination Goa, and four major other cities, could be the target of future terror attack.Goa-tourism

"Future attacks may target public places frequented by Westerners and expatriates, including the major metropolitan centres (Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai) and tourist areas such as Goa," says a travel advisory on the British government's foreign commonwealth office (FCO) website, which was updated on November 11.

The website has mentioned the 16 October Margao bomb blast as well as the 26-29 November 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks in which over “190 people were killed and more than 325 were injured. British nationals were among the casualties”.
A more detailed state sub-section asks UK nationals to exercise caution when frequenting bars and other ‘watering holes’ in the coastal tourist state, especially when it comes to ‘spiked’ drinks.

The specific warning for British nationals in India, is in addition to a high general threat throughout the country, especially in public places and five-star hotels.

The advisory asks British nationals to exercise caution when frequenting bars and other watering holes in the coastal tourist state, especially when it comes to spiked.

"You should avoid beaches after dark where there is a risk of being attacked by packs of stray dogs, being robbed or sexually assaulted," the advisory states.

According to the FCO website, this advice is based on information received from UK’s consular sources, intelligence agencies, apart from other local sources. “All advice is based on objective assessments of the risks to British nationals -- your safety is our main concern. We know that our travel advice can have a knock-on effect on travel, trade and political considerations, but we do not let this influence the advice we give,” the website states.

The Goa government is sensitive to adverse advice from European countries, especially Britain, whose nationals account for the lion's share of the 400,000 odd foreign tourists who come to Goa each season.

In the high-profile Scarlett Keeling death, her mother had accused top politicians of protecting and being involved in the flourishing drug trade along the coast.
Incidentally, sources say that the high profile and often controversial Tourism Minister, Mr  Francisco Pacheco is leading a state tourism delegation to the United Kingdom, apparently for a tourism promotion event.

Giving Happiness

We all want happiness. We all need appreciation. We all crave for recognition. We all want to be applauded. We all desire to be called as good and lovely human beings. This all gives us a new and positive self esteem, which is very important.

How to get it? Let us do all this for others. If no one is praising us, let us praise others. Let us do all that we want others to do to us. Let us give love, affection, appreciation, and let us applaud others even for a very small victory. Will this help us? It helps us immediately. The first feeling we get after doing a good deed is feeling of satisfaction. This raises our self-esteem in our own eyes. This makes us feel good. By making others happy, we get happiness. So let us become proactive and get all we want by not asking for it, but giving it.

What will happen to others when they get such praise from us? They will feel very happy. They will be happy with us. They will like us even more. They will like to do something in return. They will do all that we have been wishing for. Send happiness to get happiness. The shortest route to a lovely life. Here are some immediate resources for you. Start clicking on these e-Cards and send them across to whomever you can think of. Within few days, your own inbox will be full of messages of praise, love and applause. Giving pain to a friend or anyone for that matter is a crime against humanity, provided that pain is undeserved. Even if the pain or punishment is deserved by anyone, we can always try and forgive. Focus on giving happiness to others. By giving happiness, we get it in return manifold.

Parenting Tips

Spanking isn’t the best way to discipline children. The goal of discipline is to teach children self-control. Spanking may teach children to stop doing something out of fear. There are better ways to discipline children.

One good way for infants and toddlers is called “redirecting.” When you redirect a child, you replace an unwanted (bad) behavior with an acceptable (good) behavior. For example, if throwing a ball inside the house isn’t allowed, take your child outside to throw the ball.

With older children, try to get them to see the consequences of their actions and to take responsibility for them. For example, you can explain to your child that everyone had to wait for dinner because he or she didn’t set the table when asked. Explain that your child has to wash the dishes after dinner because he or she didn’t set the table before dinner.

How can I be a good parent?

There’s not just one right way to raise children. And there’s no such thing as a perfect parent or a perfect child. But here are some guidelines to help your children grow up healthy and happy:

* Show your love. Every day, tell your children: “I love you. You’re special to me.” Give lots of hugs and kisses.

* Listen when your children talk. Listening to your children tells them that you think they’re important and that you’re interested in what they have to say.

* Make your children feel safe. Comfort them when they’re scared. Show them you’ve taken steps to protect them.

* Provide order in their lives. Keep a regular schedule of meals, naps and bedtimes. If you have to change the schedule, tell them about the changes ahead of time.

* Praise your children. When your children learn something new or behave well, tell them you’re proud of them.

* Criticize the behavior, not the child. When your child makes a mistake, don’t say, “You were bad.” Instead, explain what the child did wrong. For example, say: “Running into the street without looking isn’t safe.” Then tell the child what to do instead: “First, look both ways for cars.”

* Be consistent. Your rules don’t have to be the same ones other parents have, but they do need to be clear and consistent. (Consistent means the rules are the same all the time.) If two parents are raising a child, both need to use the same rules. Also, make sure baby-sitters and relatives know (and follow) your family rules.

* Spend time with your children. Do things together, such as reading, walking, playing and cleaning house. What children want most is your attention. Bad behavior is usually an attempt to get your attention.

Heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor plays “a mature man” for the first time in ‘Rajneeti’

Ranbir Kapoor is excited about his upcoming film 'Rajneeti', where he plays "a mature man" for the first time. Till now Ranbir Kapoor has done a “lover boy” kind of roles in most of his films.

"I have usually acted in coming-of-age dramas or done lover boy roles in my films so far but 'Rajneeti' is my first mature role. It is a dark political thriller and also my first character with grey shades," Ranbir said in an interview. ranbir-kapoor002

‘Rajneeti’ is a satire on the Indian political system and is believed to be inspired from ‘Mahabharata’. The film has Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal, Katrina Kaif, Vivek Oberoi and Manoj Bajpai as a cast.

The actor, who recently wrapped up the shoot in Bhopal, is "thrilled" to be a part of Jha's ambitious project.

Ranbir Kapoor is thrilled to be a part of Prakash Jha’s ambitious project.

"It was really great to work with Prakash Jha. He is one of the great directors in the industry and has contributed a lot to Indian cinema. The film has a great ensemble cast. We just finished the shooting," the actor says about the film, which is based on the Madhya Pradesh politics.

Ranbir describes Katrina Kaif, with whom he has worked in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani’ and now teams up in Rajneeti as ‘phenomenal’ actress.

"Katrina is phenomenal. She has this undying energy on the set. She is so successful but never takes it for granted. From not knowing the language to becoming one of the biggest star, she has achieved a lot. I have tremendous respect for her as an artiste," Ranbir gushes about his co-star.

Indian-American ‘Rajiv Shah’ to head USAID

On Tuesday, ‘Rajiv Shah’ a young Indian – American who was working with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has been nominated by Obama Administration to run the top US assistance program. The appointment of the young Indian American ended the speculation and complaints about who will take the vacant post.

Rajiv Shah, a medical doctor who holds a senior position M_Id_119406_rajiv_shah at the Agriculture Department dealing with food security, will bring "fresh ideas" and an "impressive background" to the U.S. Agency for International Development, President Barack Obama said in a statement announcing the nomination.

Shah’s nomination would end a 10 month long leadership vacuum at USAID, which was operating with an acting director since Obama took office.

The Obama administration is planning to double the amount of Foreign Aid. Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton have said USAID is crucial to deploying their preferred "smart power" foreign policy strategy, which envisions more equal roles for diplomacy and development alongside defence.

USAID is believed to play a key role in the administration's efforts in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where officials believe the civilian component must be strengthened.

The top job at the agency has remained vacant until now, with several prime candidates withdrawing from consideration amid a White House vetting process that Clinton denounced in July as "ridiculous," "a nightmare" and "frustrating beyond words."

For many in international development, Shah's nomination was a welcome and overdue.

Fight against Recession

The slowdown in the economy has led to a lot of unrest and confusion in the markets worldwide. There have been major organizations filing for bankruptcy and employees being given the pink slip in dozens. This has led to a lot of fear and everyone these days is living in the fear of pay cuts, job loss, no promotions, increase in the price of commodities, and so on. In these trying times it is very important to take control of the situation in our individual lives and try our best to fight the recession. Small but important changes that we make in our day-to-day lives, our lifestyles, and spending habits can help ease the tension. Some important tips that can help you survive the recession period are:

1) There is no need to lose your nerve. It is very important to stay in control and not press the panic button, as it would lead to lots of chaos and confusion rather than making things easy.

2) It is important that you don't take any undue tension and let speculations get the better of you. Too much of stress and worry can lead to deterioration of your health, physically as well as mentally.

3) Rather than trying to manage any problem on your own just sit down and talk about any such problems with your family first. If there is any problem at work or you have any fear of losing your job, talk it out with your family. Don't hide anything from your family.

4) Spend cautiously and on things that are essential. Every penny saved will lead to a healthy and safe future. This needs to be followed even when there isn't a recession scare. It is important to curb your spending habits and save for the rainy day.

5) Spend quality time with your family and try to find happiness in your personal life. It is during trying times that we come together as a family and hold on to each other.

6) If you used your car to commute to work, then look for people around your locality who work in the same area as you. It would be a good idea to pool in together and go to work. You can all go together and split the expense of the gas or could alternatively use everyone's cars. Doing this would result in considerable savings on the gas daily.
